Membership, Donations & Fundraising

Hoot is a membership organisation. This allows us to be democratically run by the people who care about the organisation as well as enabling us to raise some money through membership subscriptions. Membership costs just £10 a year (£5 for concessions). It enables you to attend all Hoot groups and sessions for half price, stand for the committee and vote at meetings, receive advance notification and subsidies for all Hoot products such as CDs, DVDs, books and publications, but most of all to support Hoot to go on providing music and dance that makes people feel good about themselves.

As a charity we are always looking at ways of raising extra money to allow us to try out new projects and ideas, and to build up reserves that will ensure the future of the organisation in lean times. Last year we received £1,191 from membership and subscriptions and £104 in donations. We think we can do better.
